2018 Honda Accord Review — Our Favorite Features

If all the mid-size sedans got together and made themselves a little 2018 yearbook, then hands down the 2018 Honda Accord would be voted Best All Around. Its stylish, sporty exterior is perfectly complemented by its luxurious, premium interior. And its new and improved infotainment system is rivaled only by its standard safety system. The 2018 Honda Accord is a crowdpleaser through and through.

In this short walk-around video, join South Bay Honda team member Stan as he reveals a few of the 2018 Honda Accord’s most noteworthy features.

ACE Body Construction

This is a feature we hope you never see in action; however, knowing it’s there provides a certain peace of mind. ACE Body Construction, otherwise known as Honda’s Advanced Capability Engineering, refers to the Accord’s body frame. With ACE, the frame is designed to channel energy around the vehicle in the event of a collision. By diverting energy to the left and right sides of the vehicle, the impact on the passenger compartment is lowered substantially.

HondaSensing Package

All 2018 Honda Accords come with HondaSensing, Honda’s exclusive intelligent suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies. Two features included in HondaSensing are Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist. Adaptive Cruise Control will automatically slow your vehicle down when it comes within a certain distance of a vehicle ahead, and Lane Keep Assist will keep your vehicle in its lane when it’s traveling at speeds between 45 and 90 miles per hour.

Refined Dash & Infotainment System

The 2018 Honda Accord’s totally new dashboard offers more options than previous model years; it’s smarter, easier to use, and one of the Accord’s best new features. The new and improved infotainment systems includes:

  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Bluetooth® technology

Plus, if you plug in your smartphone using the USB port, you may access your apps directly via the touchscreen. You may also access these features by using the steering wheel button controls.

Also featured on the steering wheel is a scroll through button. This button gives you the ability to scroll through pertinent vehicle information directly on your dash, so critical driving information is displayed directly within your line of sight. You may scroll through information like:

  • Tachometer
  • Driving Range
  • Fuel Economy
  • Average Driving Speed
  • Elapsed Time (eg., see how long it’s been since you started your trip)
  • Maintenance (eg., check your engine oil life)
  • Phone
  • Audio Controls
  • Driver Assist Technologies
  • Traffic Sign — this is one of the coolest new features! Your Accord will actively scan the road for speed limit signs and then post the speed directly on your dash. This helps you be aware of the posted speed limit and avoid those, you know, speeding tickets.
